Charlie Bell's agent, Mark Bartelstein is reporting that Bell doesn't want to play for the Bucks this year. Although nobody is quoting exact numbers, it is thought that the Bucks offered Bell a multi-year deal worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million per year.
Acording to Bartelstein, who also represents Bucks players Bobby Simmons, Jake Voskuhl, Awvee Storey and Mo Williams, who recently signed a six-year, $52 million contract, Charlie Bell isn't feelin' any love coming out of the Bucks front office. The message the Bucks are sending isn't befitting for a guy who played all 82 games last season, at both guard positions, and was perhaps the best, if not most versitle defender on a team that doesn't have a packed stable of defensive players.
Several Bucks players have recently lobbied for Bell's return, including Mo Williams and forward Charlie Villanueva. I would like to join them, although it may be too late. Bell went to Greece recently and received a substantial offer from Olympiakos, a powerhouse team in Europe. Bartelstein said a number of NBA teams were interested in Bell, but the Bucks retain the right to match any offer he may receive.
