Well Bucks fans, it's that time of year again. All the Brewers season ticket holders are begrudgingly throwing away their playoff tickets - in some cases both sets of them. The players are scattering to locations with lower latitudes. Ned Yost isn't just spending off-days shooting his bow or going to Cabela's, he's going every day. If I was Derrick Turnbow, I wouldn't dress up like a grouse for Halloween this year.
It's the most wonderful time of the year for all guardedly optimistic Bucks fans like myself. Training camp opens this week at the Cousins Center in St Francis. Hope is alive. After all, the Bucks are in first place.
Charlie Bell is trying to swab his wounds after the Bucks made him a low ball offer then unexpectedly matched the offer sheet Miami signed him to; he's got eighteen million dollars to spend on band aids. (This Bucks fan is thrilled to see him back in Milwaukee.) Mr. Bell is always incredibly professional and the Bucks are lucky to have him back. He'll be fine.
Yi Jianlian is landing in Chicago this week after a fifteen hour flight and will be in Milwaukee for the first time later Thursday. Bobby Simmons and Charlie Villanueva are healthy and Michael Redd has only 9.3% body fat. It should be an interesting preseason.
